MCOM is a recognized 501c(3) charitable organization. Each year, our membership selects three causes to support with our fundraising activities. The organizations that we support are vetted to make sure that they meet certain criteria for selection including:
- The organization is currently in good standing with the IRS (uses current 990 tax filing to confirm)
- The organization is a valid 501c(3) non-profit
- The organization is in Maryland and / or has a regional chapter that serves our state
- 70% or more of the organization’s funding goes toward program expenses; and
- The CEO’s annual salary does not exceed $250,000
At our membership meeting in Westminster on April 1, 2026, the membership voted to support the following 3 charities with our fundraising activity for 2026:
MCOM donated $5,400 total to our selected 2025 Charities at our membership meeting held on March 4, 2026 at the Silver Spring Mining Company in Perry Hall.
