#&%$*%^(^, did it again this morning.
Car stalled out about a month ago after sputtering cruising down the road at about 45-50 mph. Replaced fuel filter and she stated right up and has been riding strong.
Its been riding fine since the new filter was installed and then today, sputter, started to turn around to head home and STALL, she started right up, gassed it a bit and she made it home with no issues, running good again....
What can it be, would this high heat cause vapor lock or any other stall issue, its over 90 today and was just as hot the 1st time it did it? or start looking at the fuel pump/tank/carb??? _________________ http://mdpatriotstangs.com/

Not sure if that is your problem or not but when I owned my 71 Mach I, I put a heat shield under the carburator because I was told that the heat could cause vapor lock. Never had an issue. That is a cheap installation to see if that fixes your problem. _________________ Mark

She wouldnt start at the first stop of the Dam cruise, bad connection at batt ter, clean off at next stop and ran strong, could a bad connection like that translate into what I thought was a fuel issue with the sputtering?? _________________ http://mdpatriotstangs.com/

Not sure if that would cause the problem or not. By the way, was it the negative battery cable? Years ago, the negative battery cable at the block was bad. It made the car do some strange things. It would not start one minute (turn the key and everything went dark like a bad battery), then everything would be fine the next. I could be wrong (this happened back in the early 80's), but it may have cut out on me at times also. Everything straightened out after changing the negative battery cable.
Thanks....
