I have run several blowers in the past (now turbo) and if you drive around without running full throttle, you should be just fine. I would pay careful attention to any pinging (pre-detonation) and if you hear even the slightest, back off the timing 2 degrees at a time until it goes away. It will be very easy to blow a head gasket or damage the rather fragile bottom end on a stock block if you don't. For the maximum power output within the confines of your stock small block, I would highly recommend having it custom tuned on a dyno. The guy that build my car and all my engine combinations, George Reggio at Maryland Performance Center, is one of the best in the business. Good luck!
