Hey guys, My trans is getting on in years 100k miles on it now. It is a bit clunky changing gears, going into gear and such. Questions. Does it make sense to do a flush and filter or should I just save up for the inevitable rebuild or swap? Are there any alternatives to the stock auto? Oh this is attached to my 4.0. |

When was the last time you changed the filter and fluid? Should be done every 60,000 miles. Have you checked the fluid level? If low can cause these issues! |

I bought it with 90k. So no idea if it has ever been changed. |

I think those are the ones that dont have a dipstick. They have a plug in the pan where you would use a machine to drain and fill the trans. That might only be on the GT's though. Hopefully you do have a dipstick and can service it yourself. If so, change the fluid and filter. Make sure you use a Ford filter and fluid. |

Pretty sure I don't have a dipstick. It would have to be done the hard way. |
