Made about ten passes last week at Mason Dixon. After the event I drove about 15 miles back to the house and put the car in the garage. Went out to the garage on Wednesday and noticed that the driver side rear tire was completely flat. Today was the first day I was able to pull the tire to look for a puncture. Low and behold... Nothing. No puncture what so ever. So I pulled out the old soapy water squirt bottle and started giving it a bath. No leaks on the tire itself, and the valve was fine. Hosed down the inside bead at the rim.... Bingo! The whole bead all the way around the wheel was leaking like a sieve. Have never seen this before on an auto.

Did the passes I made down the 1320 cause this? Better yet, how do I fix it?

I imagine if you break the bead and reseat it the leak will go away.

Will give it a shot. Ever hear of this happening? What would cause this, and should I fear it happening in the future? Never seen this occur with an automotive tire.

Thanks for the tip Topless. That did the trick. Wondering if the hard launches at the track caused it. When I popped the bead, all of the white rim paint was flaking off and stuck to the tire. I cleaned all the paint and it sealed right up again.
