R/C Cars and Trucks anyone?

I'm thinking of buying an rc truck. I want the traxxas slash 4x4 with the ford raptor body...what are your opinions with the slash 4x4, is it worth the price, or do you guys have any other suggestions or recommendations for rc trucks?

I want something I can take through my yard and dirt tracks. If you guys have any recommendations or suggestions let me know. Thanks!

I have the Slash 2wd and love it but it doesn't go through grass well as your girlfriend's Dad found out. The Rustlers and the Stampede we have do not have problems running through the yard. If you're just bashing around and want to be able to run it in grass, snow etc. I'd go for something with more ground clearance.

Well I just bought the rustler vxl. Waiting for the battery to charge and then I'm gonna take it for a test drive!

Yes it is exactly like that one. I'm not running LiPo batteries yet. I'm running 7 cell batteries.

You can get GPS apps for your phone too. Strap it inside the truck well and do a couple passes!

Yes those R/C's have come a long way. Those things spec'ed out are just like micro racing buggies/trucks used in like ths Baha endurance races. I did some reading and a person could go buck wild with those things. Shocks, gears, motors, tires, ya know the whole lot.

Not to mention the gas engine cars are so much better and really fast and don't overheat. I remember the airplanes from back in the 70's-80's really sucked because they were hard to start and then they'd only run a little while and peter out. The materials used now can bleed the heat off and still hold power. I am totally amazed and like I said one could sink a few bucks into these vehicles and have a lot of fun.

I like watching the races and seeing the different lines folks run and how they attack the course.

Sometime in the spring I might take my rustler up to the dirt track by the buck. If anyone is interested in meeting up and bashing around for a little bit I'm up for it.
