Has anyone seen rear window louvers, normally black in color, on any 2005 or 2006 mustang? I like the look of these on the older cars, usually seen on the 1970 Boss, and want to get some on my '06 GT. I've only seen the side louvers on cars on the street and did check the internet once a few months ago and could only find the type that are attached by double sided tape. I'm afraid that over time, the tape would dry out and the louvers would come off.

I had both of these louvers on my old 98 Cobra. My first set were the ABS plastic style. I like them alot. The only problem I had was on route with MCOM to Nashville when they were "sucked" off the car. They were on the car for a long time with no problems. On the day I lost them, I had just left a no touch high pressure car wash. I suspect the "laser wash" lifted the adhesive tabs that held the louvers on.

I tried the aluminum one after this. I didnt like them on my car. They were too squared and rattled alot. I ended up selling them on ebay and bought the plastic ones again. Only this time I used a super glue in addition to the double sided 3M tape.

I still speek with the current owner. It's been about 2 years since i put them on without a problem.

Thanks for including the photos!! Yeah! Now that looks like an aggressive Mustang! By your pictures, I have to agree with you, the plastic ABS type do look better. They are more contoured to fit the car and the metal ones stick up too much. How did you put them on? By yourself, or did you go to a detail shop? You mentioned that you took the car through a high pressure laser wash and they came off shortly after that. Are you pretty sure it was the high pressure water that caused them to come off? What kind of glue did you use the second time you installed the louvers?
