Well, my comp case has been settled and am looking for a newer vehicle. A friend of mine texted me a couple weeks ago about a 2010 GT. I got ahold of her this weekend and it's her brothers car, he bought it new at Bob Bell. 2010 GT Premium, auto, Sterling Grey. 3000 miles (yes you read right).. For an awesome price. He doesn't have time to enjoy it with work and having a boat for a toy now too. Going to check it out Tuesday evening. She talked to him and explained It's gonna be a few weeks til I get my check and he was cool with holding it for me should I decide I want it. I've been looking at Escapes and Mustangs for months now. All of them a couple years old with 25-35k are going for ~$25k or so... He's asking $24k. Any of you S197 folks know of any thing in specific I should be looking for? These things are super duper rocket technology compared to my 93 and SVO.... :3gears: Yeah, I know the '10 is kinda the red-headed step child with the body change and the last year of the 4.6..... I don't mind the ass end on them in the darker colors though.

I also have a 2010 GT and I love it. Yeah, you will always get the question about why didn't you wait a year, but otherwise it is the same car and the 4.6L engine is no slacker as proven by all those other earlier year models I see at car shows. Also, you can upgrade it to anything you want, but as I've learned you have to put some miles on the car, especially more than 1K per year! Enjoy.

Its going to be my DD, so it'll definetly get more than 1k a year. The gas mileage is in my range (20's) and a fun ride to boot! I was looking at the '11 and up V6 (as the 3.7 is an awesome engine) along with the Escape. But when this popped up, I have to check it out. Reason for the Escape is I'm going to school to be a radiologic tech (xray tech) and The thinking was for winter weather and being in the medical/healthcare field. But got to thinking I have at least 3 more years of school, and said vehicle will be paid off or close to it by then. I've already been checking out forums for it and all to see see what all I can find out about it. Hell, I've even been looking at simple mods for it already! LOL!

If those were my options 2011+ 3.7 v6 or 2010 gt, I would take the GT all day long!

Sounds better then the 6 ever will, yes stock for stock they are similar hp numbers, but the v8 responds better to the modifications.

Good looking car BTW

And the rest. Made the deal. He's gonna get the oil done, tires rotated, and a chip on the door handle fixed from an asshat at work letting a truck door hit it. Now to wait for my check.

That's a sweet ride and deal you can't beat. I'd go for it also. :btu:

I already have a set of mufflers lined up from a buddy in Alabama, LOL! Plus he's a C&L dealer so I'm gonna get the no-tune CAI for the time being, then pull the insert when I do a tune. And I think I'm gonna have to get the Bridjit curb ramps to get in the driveway with it. I have those damn rolled curbs here. Hell, the 93 scrapes the air deflector under the bumper cover if I drift out of the driveway a little too fast... Don;t even wanna talk about how much of a PITA the SVO is with this driveway...

Looks like you got one hell of a deal Eric on the 2010 GT! :btu:

You're right in that I missed this posting but you've made a great choice. You can attend school and use the car as a daily driver and enjoy the all of the rocket science that's been added since 1993!

Congratulations on a great looking car!

Picked her up tonight! I'll take pics with her stable mates tomorrow. The 93 spited me Sunday when i was running around getting a few goodies (pair of BNIB RTR wheels off S197 forum, CS lower valance, BMR strut tower and k member brace(thanks Rob!)) for the 10 by breaking the dogbone cable (again). I think I set a record replacing it in less than 5 minutes on the side of the road, one handed even! Took longer to find something to wedge under the clutch pedal... I think she knows her days are numbered. But she doesn't know about the 347 or 408 heart transplant my buddy has in store eventually.

Looks like your ready to make this car fit your personality Erik!

I personally like the 5 spoke Mustang wheels but it seems that everyone wants to upgrade to a sportier wheel. Are those original wheels 17" or 18"?

There like brand new so I guess you can try to sell them if you aren't going to use them anymore.

Hi Erik,

It was great seeing you at the meeting last night and talking about your new ride. Using the current wheels and tires for winter driving is a great idea!

I have a set of winter snow tires mounted on the same American Muscle Cobra R wheels that I have on my car right now for winter use. Withe the light rear end my all weather tires just don't give me enough traction in snow and sleet conditions.
