Post subject:  Traction Control Switch Problem

The bulb on my cruise control switch module vanished... probably when I was working on the center console last summer. I checked with the Ford dealer, and was told I had to buy the complete module and it cost BIG BUCKS!

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement switch module, or even better, just the bulb? I've got the suggestions to get a programmer and just shut it off, but, although I rarely use the traction control, I still want to be able to turn it on from time to time.

Any help you could provide would be great.
Thanks,
Corey

I'm no expert on the 1994-2004 model line, but I'd suggest consulting with someone who has this area apart to look at. The reason being - if you can identify the bulb, I'm sure you'd be able to find the replacement based upon the bulb number on the bulb's base. Or, you may find a generic replacement at your local electronics store.

I had to replace my foglight switch...probably same type of switch, etc...cost <$20 at Al Packer Parts off of Rossville Blvd. (I get a discount there since I work at Autozone) Let me know if you want me to check into it...and what specific part(s) you need. As far as the bulb goes, Rick is right, if you can get to it/see it...we might have a replacement at Autozone. :confused2:

FYI... I decided to 'bite the bullet' and went to the dealership expecting to pay $100+ for a replacement switch module. I was shocked to find out it cost only $32. Purchased, installed and is working great now.

BTW, the traction control problem I had during the GOOTC cruise (It wouldn't shut off), was happening because I forgot to plug the wire harness back into the switch module after I was playing around with it the previous weekend. Boy do I feel stupid! :banghead:
