I need new tires for the 97 cobra. I was planning on going to 285/35/18 and getting a new set of 18" wheels. For 285/35/18 I need a 18x10 wheel right ? 18x9.5 wont work right ? I was thinking of getting chrome 2000 cobra R wheels but I don't see them in 18x10 only 18x 9.5.

Check with the tire manufacturer that you want to go with they should have recommended rim widths for the tires you want to buy. I just went on Tirerack.com and for 285-35-18s the tires I checked recommended 9.5-11 rim width. I have 285s on the back of mine and the rims are 18x10s.

I got the Sumitomos. They aren't too bad. I don't drive in the wet so I can't attest to their wet traction but the dry is pretty good.
