Well I've got the V6 Mustang looking pretty good now after getting it a couple of months ago. I've got some minor body work in a few places I want to have done and painting on the whole drivers side arranged for the beginning of October. That's not going to be cheap - probably $2000.00. The Electric green has got to look good all the way around.

But after that I want to get a dual muffler setup on it to get it to breath a little better. I want to go with turn down pipes right at the bumper. I'm not looking for really loud but rather a better tone and flow.
Any suggestions?

Our 2004 has a Flowmaster catback with duals (they are straight out the back, not turned down) and the sound fools a lot of folks into thinking there is a V8 in there.

Did you just hang the pipes lower to clear the bumper or do you have cut-outs in the bumper? Mine has no cut outs.

i have the same plan...

I want a full exhaust setup w/ turndowns before the bumper...and ive talked to a few folks and done alot of research

So far from what ive seen Long Tube Headers, X-Pipe(catted or not your choice) w/ flowmaster 44's...now i dont plan to get headers right away but they will add a little more power if you want to do that...

now yes there are flow 40s and flow 44s...from what ive seen/heard there isnt much of a difference except in my opinion flow 44s sound better and from what ive heard 40s resonate more at high rpms and 44s are quieter at high rpms so if you dont want a annoying tone while cruising down the highway id go with 44s

as far as price ive talked to a few shops and it seems that it will be around 500 but not much less than that.

now this might not be the best option but from my experience it has the best sound out of all the options though it is personal preference
