Where's our Fox Body Friends?

I have fond memories of my 1980 Mustang Hatchback. I used it as a daily driver for four years and put over 134,000 miles on it. It was a basic 4 cyl. with a four speed stick and while not a drag car by any means it was a fun car to drive.

It was adequate in around town performance and easily cruised around the beltways at 65 to 70 mph without any effort. It was sporty and in contrast to many other owners, it performed admirably in the snow! The secret was a lot of paper samples in the rear of the car.

As a hatchback I was able to routinely deliver up to 10 cases of computer print out paper to customers who needed some in an emergency.

I fitted it with BF Goodrich Raised White Letter radials and chrome spoked wheels. It was a metalic brown color but was really attractive and I got lots of comments on the car.

I wish that I could have kept that car and possibly replaced the 4 cyl. engine with a 5.0 litre V8 but I traded it in on a Buick Skylark.

As the owner of a 2002 Mustang, I really love that body style as well. Obviously my next Mustang will be one of the newer post 2005 cars with the new styling.

Obviously theres plenty to like about the Fox Mustang :D

I have a 93GT myself and have owned it since 2000.

Dislikes that im addressing are:

Stock brakes (replaced with 00R/SN95 Cobra brakes)
Stock suspension (replaced with the MM Catalog)
Stock Seats (replaced with Recaro SRDs)

What drew me to this platform was the "cheap fun" that it offered... Big engine, little car, reliable. After 11 years, i can hardly call my car "cheap" anymore but it sure is fun!

I just tuned in so if the Fox cruise hasnt' happend yet... count me in!!!

No formal cruise or gathering thus far, but I would be glad to help get one coordinated.

I am attending the Century Ford show tomorrow and will try to get a list of people together for a Fox Body group.

I look forward to meeing some Fox Body folks tomorrow.
