Nobody's posted in this forum yet, so I thought I throw something in here...

I'm curious to see what everyone's opinion is about the Mustang II (1974-1978)? Would you ever consider buying one and fixing it up? Will they become a collectors item in the future because there so little interest in them now? Are they just plain ugly or do they have an inner beauty? Let me hear your opinions!

Not a particularly sexy style from my point of view, but the King Cobra/Cobra II's weren't ugly by any means. With an updated powertrain, it could be a stout little car!

On the other hand, there is a Mustang II in the 'Black Mustang Club' video from Myrtle Beach 2005 that is absolutely awesome!

I admit to having 2 of these. My father and I restored a 75 coupe for my first car. It had 13 inch Keystone Klassic's, canary yellow paint and dual yes full dual exhaust with cherry bombs. I loved that car but alas a very large bush sent the motor to engine heaven at 55 mph. My 2nd one was pretty much just parts but I just watched them both drive off on the back of a roll back 2 weeks ago so I had more $ for my 2000. Ford could have done much better with those cars but at least they helped keep the mustang rolling for this long.

I was at work today and a 76 was parked next to me. The guy was walking to the stang and asked me if I wanted to buy it. I told him that I just bought mine. He's starting to restore it and just got done doing some body work on it. It was a 4-cylinder, yellow with black interior, and all original with just alittle over 51,000 miles on it. He had taken the carpet out to look at the floor pans and they were solid. Hope to see the car again.

HEy I own a 1978 Datsun B210 it would fit right in. Of course I have the Cobra next to it. That is my door protector. And on the other side is my 92 Jetta which is the other door protector. good idea huh!!

I don't mind them. I think they can be done up very nicely. Especially when they are tubbed with a blower sticking through the hood.

Gary that Datsun rocks man!! I love it!

Some people are like Slinkys. They have no purpose, but they sure bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I need a cheap body man to fix the rust holes on that Datsun, actually like to get it done as cheap as possible. and maybe a paint job ( and a turbo Mazda engine later for that) It runs real good I take it on the highway I have had it up to 80mph but it is screaming at about 5k RPM's, but it goes. :yikes:

I had a new 75 Mach 1 in college. It was a 302-2V. Sounds funny but I ran a 70 Mach 1 with a 351-2V Windsor and hung with him. The Mustang IIs never got respect but their cheap, can be registered as antiques, and you can do anything with them.

Deb's son bought a 78 King Cobra last year. it is in :3gears: pretty good shape. we hope to take it to shows this summer. it's a very fun car to be in to ride and gets alot of looks. i guess with gas going to $3.00 soon i guess Ford did have a good Idea. LOL
