President – Bob Thompson
VP1 – Rich Airing
VP2 – Heather Thompson
Treasurer – Steve Tapper
Secretary – Ann Thompson

My wallet is open to other nomination suggestions.

Here is a slightly different question,
Who wants to help the club by being an Officer? It takes more time than most people expect. Feel free to ask any current or past officers about the effort involved. We can alway use the help.

Hi Everyone,

Tomorrow IS an important meeting; unfortunately Dave and I can't make it. Here are my nominations for officers:

President: Bob Thompson
VP1: Dave Rummel
VP2:
Secretary: Anne Thompson
Treasurer: Steve Tapper

There can be no doubt that these 4 have done an excellent job of running and advancing MCOM as a team and I believe that it would good for the Club and the membership as a whole to vote them back into their current roles if they want to run.

Now, for VP2. I have 2 nominations. In my opinion, this position should be held by someone who has a proven record of dedication to MCOM for a minimum of 2 years as a member in good standing; attendance at most if not all events including the monthly member meeting, shows, cruises, and parties; have a cordial rapport with all club members and our associate Mustang Clubs; be a positive role model; demonstrate advancing MCOM's mission and goals; recognized as an accountable liaison of MCOM within the community; and most importantly, be trustworthy.

For these reason, I nominate Rick Hinkle and Linda Queen.

Just one final comment - if I may - when considering nominees, holding office is a REAL commitment and requires a lot of personal time and dedication. I am somewhat cautious about husband and wife teams in these roles for two reasons: 1) If one leaves, MCOM may be down 2 major roles instead of 1; and, 2) I do have a concern regarding objectivity when MCOM issues come into question between spouses. Just something to think about ...

Despite all of the time and effort it takes to be a MCOM officer I believe that Dave Rummel should run for one of the two VP positions. Filling in this year he has done a tremendous job for the club and deserves to have the permanent title and position of one of the clubs Vice Presidents. :thumbsup2:

I agree with Bob that Rich Arring would make a very good VP. He attends meetings and events and I understand he is or did hold an office for his antique tractor club, so he knows what being an officer involves.

We had a very nice turnout of members including some new members and potential new members to our November Meeting at the Boulevard Diner in Dundalk. The November meeting is important to the club as that is when we have nominations for our club officers.

After our Secretary's Report, Out Treasurer's Report and our committee reports Bob Thompson set up the chalk board to take nominations for next years officers. The following nominations were made at this time with all of the nominees named agreeing to serve if elected.

President - Bob Thompson
Vice President - Rich Airing
Vice President - Dave Rummel
Vice President - Karla Saval
Secretary - Ann Thompson
Treasurer - Steve Tapper

We have three candidates running for the office of Vice President with only two Vice President positions open so we will have an election for this office at our December 14th Meeting/Holiday Party to be held at the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department. Actually all of the officer positions are still open as we will take further nominations at our December meeting before the actual election.

Everyone had a great time as you will see in the photos I am posting and there were a lot of laughs at some of the humongous sandwiches that were ordered. I had an opportunity to discuss some of the latest rumors about the new 2015 Mustang from Ford with some artists renditions that were published in Car and Driver magazine. I also was able to present the new book written by Donald Farr, editor of Mustang Monthly Magazine, on the 50 year of the Ford Mustang. This book has a lot of previously unpublished photos of early Mustang development and a lot of behind the scenes intrigue as to the actual decision making on bringing the Mustang to market. It is a tremendous book for any Mustang enthusiast and would make a wonderful Christmas gift.
