I see the gates open at 9:30, so when can we start arriving for the car show?

Nice day although I think the people got rain spooked and many didn't show. Apple did a nice job with things.

I have edited the 162 photos from the show and will be posting them later today. I believe that Dirk is correct in that the weather forecast might have scared off a lot of car show participants. We still had a nice showing for the first time doing this show so it will be easier to market next year.

I've already posted some of these photos onto my Facebook page but for everyone who attended and those who could not attend we had a great day at the H&H Grand Prix and Car Show.

The weather was not a factor at all and we had a nice turnout of Mustangs, Fords, Corvettes, a GTO, a Citroen, and a couple of Mazda's along with the Fire Truck! :btu:

Congratulations to all of the officers and members who helped out with this car show. It was a mammoth undertaking for the club to get the word out, publicize and promote this show for the very first time. It took a lot of effort and preparation to make this show come off and our President, Bob Thompson, our VP's Levi Wardell, Rick Hinkle and Dave Rummel, our Secretary Ann Thompson and Heather Thompson, who did much of the behind the scenes work, and even yours truly as the Treasurer of the club and photojournalist all want to thank everyone who supported our efforts.

We also appreciated the many club members who volunteered to help out with registration and merchandise sales too. At the risk of missing someone I'd like to at least name some of the volunteers who helped us out at the registration tent. Melissa, Carol, Linda, Ann and Robert Thompson, Lauren and of course "child labor" Clark Skirka who helped us out in many ways. Robbie sold 50/50 tickets and James, Kevin and Rick handled the parking for the show. Please forgive me if I forgot to mention anyone else who helped us out but we did appreciate every ones contributions.

It only took over 30 years as a professional photographer before I could take pictures of things I wanted to photograph! :clinkmugs:

Now that I'm retired I can use my skills and equipment to photograph car shows and model train related photos. This also helps out as I am now detailing cars again too.

I'm working on a 2006 Ford F250 Dually Pick Up Truck that rivals the "porcupine" Honda Accord I detailed back in June. This is a work truck but it was filthy on the inside with pistachio nut shells scattered in every crevice! The leather seats have permanent damage caused by some sort of sticky substance on them like dried out raisins. The carpeting also has sticky substances that required a lot of extra cleaning and detailing too. I detailed the engine, which was dirty but at least it didn't have any food stuck to it! :nono:

Tomorrow I start on the exterior of the truck.
