Post subject:  Questions on OC Show

I know its still early but can anyone shed just a little light on the OC Show which is on the events calendar from 17-20 May. Is it really 4 days? If not, what are the best days to be there? Also, how soon should we make motel reservations and for what nights? Any recommendations for motels?

Also, is this our event or a massive event of which we are just one small participant? Having not been in the past I don't know what to expect.

thanks

Ron

There is a large annual event that occurs in Ocean City, MD from Weds-Sun each Spring called "Cruisin' Week", . It showcases hot rods, customs, muscle cars, exotics & even some barely street legal race cars. There are huge shows at the inlet parking lot, convention center & at Hooters (must be registered as historic to register for those shows). There are also numerous make-shift shows throughout OC and Rt-1 becomes a rolling show. It's a very COOL event!

MCOM has started a tradition of holding an annual Mustang-only show on the Saturday during Cruisin Week at Dead Freddies on 64th St. This year would be the 7th annual event. We also hold a Friday Nite mustang cruise to Bethany, DE ending with an awesome dinner at Bethany Blues BBQ. For more info on the MCOM show, check out the official event website, .

Hope to see you and everyone else in OC this Spring!

The best way I can differentiate the two O.C. "shows" is that the spring one is the wild and crazy event. While the main Cruisin O.C. event(in the inlet lot) is a classic and hotrod only event, you tend to see more of the relatively younger owners, and you get more of the tuners and "neon" custom type cars. Burnouts and street "showoffs" happen frequently, with really crazy stuff happening on the more remote side streets. This may be due to the fact that the spring crusin week is at or near the end of the college school year and alot of college students are able to attend. The fall event, Endless Summer is the name I believe, is much more toned down. The kids are mostly in school and unavailable for this one, so you tend to see more older generation cars and drivers. Classic hot-rods and led-sled style caddies and the like are more common sites during this weekend. As far as MCoM is concerned, we have our official events as described during the spring week and no official presence at the fall week. For hotels etc., start looking now or as soon as you are able. Since the festivities take over the entire island, accomodations on/near O.C. tend to fill up fast. I can't tell you which places to look at since Heidi and I just drive in because we only live 1.5 hrs away. Hope that gives you some info. to work with.
