Cecil or North/North Eastern Hartford?

The trans just blew up AGAIN in my 65 mustang. 7th trans in roughly 12 yrs.
I know I am expecting a lot....410c, AOD (4r70w internals, big bands, lentech valve body, one piece input, etc...)

Car is a street car, I like to rock it for commuting when weather is nice, get 12 MPG, 4.11 rear gear, 26 inch tall tire, Stroker cleveland at 410 cubes....run 11.2 in the quarter without really launching it.

I know I can take it back to Deltrans (over in Newark) but they just aren't the right place.....

I also know I have other options....
1. Stop needed it to be commuter friendly and put in a c4/power glide/insert non-od trans of choice
2. Convert it to a stick and put in a Tremec or even mod the tunnel and put in a t56 6 speed....
3. Sell it as it is, maybe get 28k out of it and cut my losses.....

But I think I'm going to start with finding a better/closer trans shop

It may be s little further than you want, but Affordable Transmission in White Marsh is pretty good. Had the tranny in my 4Runner rebuilt by them and they were reasonable. Family business and I found out when I got there they drag race and also build race transmissions for others.

Thanks...
Mark

Joppa Transmission in Edgewood used to build race transmissions also. I am not sure they still do, but they are very trustworthy. I once went in for an AOD rebuild. They test drove the car, installed a TV cable grommet and sent me on my way for free.

I had my AOD redone by Chris @ Kellin Performance Trans up in Wilmington, near Christiana Mall. His prices are very reasonable.

He has an ad on Craigslist, you can search for AOD transmission or Kellin Performance Trans.
