A few weeks ago when I was at BobT's garage, he had a billet grille for a S197 with rally lights. I got it from him but wasnt sure if I was going to install it. It looked good held up to the front of the Ghost but I wasnt sure. I finally installed it and Ive gotten a lot of positive comments on it. Just a small appearance mod. Below are the results.

Looks great and would you ever consider yellow lights for the grill lights?

Thanks for the good comments. Im glad it looks good. I was thinking of also adding a lower grille overlay but the one I saw by AM looks kinda flimsy and full lower billet grilles are expensive. If I had the skill and ability to make it i think a small matching billet grille for the hood scoop would look good.

as for the lights i have seen that you can get yellow bulbs and yellow tint for the lenses. I thought about it but I like using the rally lights as driving lights. Often i can tell when a GT is approaching me at night from a distance because of the rally lights lol. I guess for now I'll keep the clear lights. Maybe one day ill try the yellow lights for something different. Speaking of lights, I wish they didnt cost so much but I really like the Retro headlights from AM.

Ok Maybe a billet grille for the hood scoop opening would not be such a good idea. lol Below is a Photoshop look at what it would look like. Didnt look as good as I thought it would.

I personally like the rally lights in the grill Bruce. It gives the car a "rally car" look. :btu:

Looks good but not a fan of the grid on the scoop look. :2cents:

Hi Steve!
I've always liked the grille mounted rally lights in the 60s Stangs and was glad to see Ford had them on the S197. I sometimes think I would like to have the center mounted grille lights such as on Great White which give it an even better "Rally" look. I also like the lights mounted below the bumper (I've sometimes seen it referred to the "Eleanor look") and think they would work good as fog lights because they are at about the right height to be useful as such, but that requires a whole different fascia and the Ghosts current budget doesn't allow for that lol. Plus the requirement for a front license plate in Maryland would make it difficult to use.

Thanks Bob, I agree about the grid in the scoop. It seemed such a neat idea in my mind at the time but once i saw what it would look like graphically, i tossed the idea. :hammerhead2:

Hi Scott
Thanks for the nice comments. Di and i were there to join her sister, one of her brothers and their spouses for their first time there. I know you couldnt with the pup along but would been glad to have you and Cindy stop in and join us. Afterwards we cruised down to the park where we saw a really nice yellow 05-09 yellow vert with black stripes. Looked like it had a CS or other special front fascia. Next time you see the Ghost parked in front of Coakleys please feel free to stop in and join us for a meal. I know it doesnt look like much from the outside but they have really excellent food.
